Sacraments

Sacraments (excerpt from 3:50 min)

So I think about the sacrament of the toasted tomato sandwich, because I saved my potatoes from the frost last week, and there will be a few more toasted tomato sandwiches, the sacrament of the Concord grapes, the sacrament of the season of apples, or the sacrament of preparing food to store for the winter season. All of these things at this time of year, more than anything else, are a reminder that this is a friendly universe and that this planet is set up to support our highest good and our finest health. And wouldn't it be remarkable if we could, in turn, with every ingestion and digestion, commit ourselves again to the well-being of Mother Earth that is so profoundly life-giving and generous for us.
