The congregation that created and now calls The Andrew home identifies itself as The Circle of Friends. We are a worshipping community associated with the Presbyterian Church in Canada. While we remain connected to this historic denomination, we have boldly reimagined what it means to live out our faith in this time and place.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada traces its roots to the Protestant Reformation, guided by the conviction Ecclesia reformata, semper reformanda — “the Church reformed and always reforming.” This belief calls every generation to listen afresh to the movement of the Spirit and to respond faithfully to the world as it is. Canadian theologian Douglas John Hall reminds us that the most urgent theological question is always, “What time is it?”
The Circle of Friends (formerly St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church) has taken that question to heart. We continue to hold the wisdom and teachings of Jesus as our north star, seeking to embody them with curiosity, creativity, and courage in a changing world. Our reformation has been both spiritual and practical — transforming pews into gathering circles, walls into doorways, and an old church into a space where all stories belong.
